Corrections Policy

At Breaking Reality, we are committed to accuracy, transparency, and accountability. When we make errors, we correct them promptly and clearly.

How We Handle Errors

If you believe an article contains a factual error, please contact us at corrections@breakingreality.inwith the following information:

  • The URL of the article
  • The specific error you identified
  • The correct information with supporting source

Response Time

Our editorial team reviews all correction requests within 24 hours of receipt.

Types of Corrections We Issue

Correction: For minor factual errors such as misspelled names, incorrect dates, or wrong numbers. The correction is noted at the bottom of the article.

Update: For developing stories where new information becomes available. Updates are clearly labelled with the time and date.

Clarification: When an article could be misinterpreted but is not factually wrong. Clarifications add context without changing the original meaning.

Retraction: For articles found to be fundamentally incorrect or based on false sources. Retracted articles remain visible with a clear retraction notice explaining why the content was removed.

Where Corrections Appear

All corrections are displayed at the bottom of the affected article with the date of correction. Significant corrections may also be noted in a separate corrections log updated monthly.

Correcting vs. Updating

We distinguish between corrections (fixing what was wrong) and updates (adding what is new). Both are labelled differently so readers understand the nature of the change.
