Editorial Standards

Our Sourcing Policy

Breaking Reality relies on primary sources whenever possible. Primary sources include original documents, official statements, direct interviews, and first-hand accounts.

Secondary sources are used only when primary sources are unavailable. When we use secondary sources, we verify the information against at least one other independent source.

Fact-Checking Process

Every article published on Breaking Reality goes through a multi-step fact-checking process:

First, the writer verifies all facts, quotes, and data against original sources before submission.

Second, a designated fact-checker independently verifies all claims, statistics, and attributions.

Third, a senior editor reviews the article for accuracy, context, and fairness before publication.

Any claim that cannot be verified is either removed or clearly attributed as unverified.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

Breaking Reality uses artificial intelligence for content discovery, initial drafting, and research assistance.

All AI-generated content is reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by human editors before publication. AI is not used to generate final published content without human oversight.

Final editorial responsibility rests entirely with our human editorial team.

Editorial Independence

Our editorial content is independent of commercial interests. Advertisers and sponsors have no influence over our editorial decisions.

Sponsored content is clearly labelled as “Sponsored” or “Paid Content” and is produced separately from our newsroom.

We do not accept payment for coverage. Any article that includes paid promotion is clearly disclosed to readers.

Article Updates

When we update an article with new information, we include a visible update note at the top or bottom of the article stating what changed and when.

For major updates to developing stories, we may publish a new article and link to the previous version.
