Deekshit, who is the sole selection from Karnataka, will be donning the Indian jersey at the international tournament, organized by the International School Federation. The promising player is a member of the Mangalore Basketball Club (MBC) and is currently a student at Presidency School, Mangaluru, under the guidance of experienced coach Aditya Mahale.
Notably, Deekshit has created history by becoming the first player from undivided Dakshina Kannada to earn a spot on the Indian School Boys (U-18) Basketball team. This remarkable achievement was announced by Naveen Shetty, president of the Dakshina Kannada District Basketball Association.
