Embezzlement Allegations Rock Ram Temple Trust
Ayodhya police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against eight individuals, including Ramashankar Yadav and Avinash Shukla, in connection with the alleged embezzlement of donations meant for the Ram Temple Trust. The complaint was lodged by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, prompting a thorough investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Opposition Reacts to FIR
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav expressed skepticism about the FIR, suggesting that it may be an attempt to shield powerful individuals involved in the scandal. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Congress unit president Ajay Rai accused the state government of trying to protect key figures like Champat Rai, who he believes may have been involved in the alleged embezzlement.
Demands for Justice
- Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international president Alok Kumar has called for a comprehensive investigation into the allegations and demanded that those found guilty face strict legal action.
- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured that the truth will prevail once the SIT completes its probe, urging political parties to refrain from making baseless comments until the investigation is over.
The case has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for transparency and accountability in the management of donations to the Ram Temple Trust.
