Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh Concludes South Korea Tour
Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for HRD, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh has concluded his five-day tour of South Korea, where he met with top officials and business leaders to attract investments in key sectors such as electric vehicles, semiconductors, and renewable energy.
Investment Opportunities in Andhra Pradesh
Lokesh proposed the setting up of an Andhra Pradesh-Korea Investment Desk to facilitate investments and collaborations between the two regions. He also invited Korean companies to invest in Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the state’s investor-friendly policies, industrial infrastructure, and connectivity.
During his meetings, Lokesh emphasized the state’s 3S governance model, which focuses on speed, stability, and service. He believes this model will provide a secure environment for Korean investors to operate in Andhra Pradesh.
Kia Corporation and Sunic Systems
Lokesh met with senior executives of Kia Corporation and invited the company to expand its operations in Andhra Pradesh. He proposed that Kia establish facilities for electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and other related components near the Visakhapatnam Port.
Additionally, Lokesh met with Sunic Systems, a leading manufacturer of display equipment, and invited the company to set up a unit at Sri City in Andhra Pradesh. He also sought collaboration on semiconductor skill development and encouraged Sunic Systems to invest in the state under the India Semiconductor Mission 2.0.
Lokesh’s efforts aim to position Andhra Pradesh as a hub for Korean tech investments, with a focus on sectors such as higher education, research, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
